Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says the Reds youngster Raheem Sterling is still likely to be a big star after the start of good things in the Liverpool first team. Players who were aged 17 years earlier had scored his first goal for Liverpool at the weekend against Reading as well as a second-youngest goalscorer in the history of Liverpool.

"I think he has given a big surprise for everyone, not because he played at the highest level but I think not many would have thought he would mature from the start," said Gerrard as reported by Soccerway, Monday (22/10/2012). "I think we all know he's going to play very well for Liverpool squad.
However, when you are young and smaller posture, sometimes you need to be extra careful in the play," he added. "They (the young players) usually feel playing towards the end of the season, but now the manager wants. Seeing what he has done in the pre-season I think he's ready now," said Gerrard. " Raheem Sterling never disappoint anyone, and has played sensational so far. If he can add assists and goals in each game then he will grow up to be a star," he said.
